Alternatives to Violence

The Alternatives to Violence Issue Team has selected two issues on which to focus.

The first issue is to deepen our commitment to leading a nonviolent lifestyle. We will focus on the family, local community and how we can be active as individuals in the global community. Links will be listed that will provide programs on strengthening our personal commitment to nonviolence.

"A People's Peace Initiative" is a Catholic collaboration to articulate the challenges of peacemaking in the 21st century. The program is designed for small group dialogue and reflection.

It is strongly recommended that members of the Marianist family engage in the PPI dialogue. Contact Larry Hufford (
lhufford@stmarytx.edu) or Jim Vogt (jimvogt2@yahoo.com) for further information.

"Engage: Exploring Nonviolent Living" is a study program for learning, practicing and experimenting with the power of creative nonviolence to transform our lives and our world... The focus is on examining how each one of us as an individual can living a more nonviolent life on a daily basis. It is design for small group dialogue and discussion.

For more information contact Larry Hufford (lhufford@stmarytx.edu) or Jim Vogt (jimvogt2@yahoo.com).
