Awakening the Dreamer – Marianists for Justice and Integrity of Creation

Focus – This workshop offers participants practical new ways to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on the planet. It includes dynamic group interaction and leading edge information on critical global issues delivered through engaging multimedia.  Participants will see more clearly, in light of our Marianist charism, how individually and as community we can be better world citizens, by making more effective choices in our day to day lives.

Length – 4 1/2 hours.  Can also be done in 2 or 4 sessions.

A Place at the Marianist Table

Focus – The program helps Marianist communities and groups to examine the call to be open and accepting, especially to our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters. We believe that positive attitudes about those who may be different and a spirit of genuine inclusion come from knowledge gained through honest dialogue. Realizing that there are gay and lesbian members of our Marianist family, the workshop aims to provide Marianist groups with opportunities to enter this dialogue. The goal is not to debate the teachings of the official Church on homosexuality but to encourage listening to the lived experiences of our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.

Length – 2 1/2 hours (can be done in one evening)

How Do Marianists Do Social Justice?

Focus – This retreat will help Marianist communities or groups reflect on the ways we are called to social justice, particularly in light of our Marianist charism. The program provides time for group and individual reflection, prayer, and sharing.

Length – 5-6 hours, including lunch

Young Adults and the Church: Reasons We Love It or Leave It

Focus – This is opportunity for young adults (20's & 30's) to search, learn and share about whether, where and how the Catholic Church and the Marianist Family can respond to the needs, hopes and questions of young adults today.  We explore how the experience of a Marianist approach to community and social justice can help.

Length –  Full day (9:30-5:00)
