Justice Jottings                             January 2008

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."stiles

This is my last editing and publishing of Justice Jottings.  It has been a privilege and honor to work with many of you over the past year and a half to put together quality information about social justice work being done in the Marianist Family and opportunities for all of us to grow in our commitment to peace and justice.  I leave you to become Director of Campus Ministry at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati.  I pray that I can carry on with sharing the work of social justice with the college students there, and I will be counting on many of you to keep me connected to the quality resources and support we all need.  May we all continue to work to be the change we wish to see in this world.

In Peace,  Andrea Stiles

Everyday Justice - Personal stories of those living out social justice day by day

January's reflection comes from the Adele Social Justice Project's Resource Manual.  Using Adele as their model, members of the Marianist Family contributed letters on social justice topics.  We feature Jennifer Mansfield's letter from the Living Simply section.

"For me, simplicity stems from a call to Care for Creation, one of the themes of Catholic social teaching. What inspires me to work toward voluntary simplicity? A connection to the earth and nature has been with me since a young age."
